About our Programs
 
America's fastest growing youth serving organization has developed core beliefs.  The Boys & Girls Clubs provide:  A safe place to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals; and offers life enhancing programs and character developing experiences that give youth hope and opportunity.
 
Our core programs with generation-changing outcomes are:

We provide a major emphasis on educational enhancement and access to technology.  We offer life skills that help youth understand and appreciate different cultures, promote civility, and foster positive race relations.

Specific Programs
 
  Athletic Program: 
      football, flag football, cheerleading, indoor soccer, basketball,          
      baseball and softball
 
  Computer Lab:
      10 internet accessible computers.  Classes are offered in different age groups teaching 
       skills in various Microsoft programs, including, Word, Excel, and  PowerPoint.  
       Computers are also available for research and homework help. Our NetSmartz program is designed for internet safety use and is required for all members using the Computer Lab.
 
  Power Hour:
      This is our homework help program which offers tutoring and guidance for members
       of all ages.  Communication with schools, parents, staff and members is a must.
 
  Smart Moves/Street Smarts:
      This is a prevention program to educate young people about peer relationships, alcohol and tobacco
       use, life skills, nutrition, gang awareness, conflict resolution, valuing differences and leadership skills.  All programs are age appropriate and feature engaging,
       interactive, small group activities.  This program is done in collaboration with the Rockingham County Health Department, Sheriff's Department, Youth Involvement and Eden Police Department.
 
   Game Room:
      Our game room is equiped with pool tables, ping pong, video games, checkers, chess and a variety of   
       board games.  Competition is on going with our challenge ladders.
 
  Exercise Programs:
      We feature a complete weight and exercise room equipped with multi-weights, exercise bikes,
      video programs and mats.  This program reaches the mind, body and soul of our members offering
      education in exercise, healthy eating habits and nutrition.
 
  Horticulture Club:
      This is a brand new program teaching our members how to care for plants and herbs.  It is a
       hands on activity featuring our own herb garden.
 
  Youth of the Month/Year:
      This program rewards a member on a monthly basis based on their behavior, leadership ability, respect,
       integrity and academic improvements. 
     
 
Junior Staff
This program is a practical, user friendly group program that assist club members from the ages of 13 to 18 in exploring a career.  Young people prepare for their future by participating in career development activities, discovering the importance of community service and building customer service skills.
